1. Recently seen headline, “The war on Christmas is over and we won.”

2. A bow tie is a boy’s version of a bow.

3. When I read that the word twerk was a combination of twitch and jerk, I was reminded that when my son Dylan was little he made up the word huggle, a mix of hug and cuddle.

4. One time I / Google Earthed you / all the way down / to a single pixel / of a butterfly’s foot / on an oak leaf / in the northeast / corner of your / old back yard.  – More from my blog poet friend Jannie Funster HERE.

5. At a party recently, a friend asked what I had been doing lately.  I answered that I was just photographing a cardboard Santa (in the chicken coop, on a beach chair and on a bed) because I thought it was a better answer than saying I’d been videotaping stink bugs.

6. Stink bug contemplating suicide HERE.

7. I’m very proud of the fact that I taught myself how to fold money into origami flowers, stars, hearts and shirts as a gift to Bryce and Liam’s 13 year old sister who asked for money for Christmas.

8. Charles Dickens’ Christmas Carol is to Christmas what Arlo Guthrie’s Alice Restaurant is to Thanksgiving.

9. Find out why my favorite Christmas song is called That Was the Worst Christmas Ever! HERE.

10. At a Solstice gathering last week, while doing a Dances of Universal Peace, we sang John Lennon’s All We Are Saying is Give Peace a Chance to each other, but I kept having the impish urge to break out in We All Live in a Yellow Submarine.

11. On the drive through the countryside to the solstice gathering, every time we passed and old barn I started humming “Put a Wreath on it,” to Beyonce’s “Put a Ring on it.”

12. There’s something contradictory about the light returning on the Winter Solstice and feeling like the worst is over, while also knowing it’s the first day of winter.

13.  See 13 Christmas Action Shots HERE.
